Emily Grosvenor made her first tessellation in fourth grade, an image of interlocking seals jumping out of the waves. Ever since, she has loved finding natural and man-made patterns. She loves all things that tessellate: beehives, cracked mud, quilts, tiles, curtains, and especially wallpaper. A writer and essayist, Emily lives with her family in Oregon.
